Kids Santa Swim and Adults ‘Festive 4km’
Thank you to everyone who took part in the charity swims on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 December 2023.

It is a really busy time of year for everyone, so it makes it even more special that so many people took time out of their busy schedules to enter the swim and raise money for such a worthy cause – Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.  It was so lovely to see over 90 swimmers, from our youngest aged 6, up to our oldest with 3 swimmers over 75! Thank you to everyone who has already generously donated so far.  We raised and incredible £4173!

MWMT Charity Kids triathlon & Adults Aquathlon

Please may I take this opportunity to thank everyone for their participation in the kids triathlon & adults aquathlon.   It was wonderful to see so many people taking part on Sunday 24 September 2023. We had just over 120 competitors during the afternoon from the youngest aged 5 - to the adults!

We also had a great number of St Catherine School Six Form students; including day girls and borders who kindly gave up their time to help (with baking cakes, setting up, running the stalls, marshalling, donating prizes etc) which was lovely to see. The total amount raised was an incredible £2450!

Action for A-T TRIPLE CHALLENGE

Action for A-T raises money for medical research to find a cure or medical advancement that will enable children who suffer with Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T) to live a longer and healthier life.

I met a young girl called Evie (who at the time) was 5 years old and her lovely family whilst coaching swimming. Evie had recently been diagnosed with A-T, a rare and little known neurological condition. Since then, I have wanted to help raise awareness and fundraise for this charity.

 TRIPLE CHALLENGE 2016

1. In July, I Cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats (LEJOG). This involved cycling a total of 1076 miles over 10 days. I did the whole route by myself and had different friends join me for various days.

2. I will competed in IronMan Wales in September. This involved a 2.4mile swim in the Ocean, a 112 mile super hilly bike ride and a 26.2 mile run.  For those of you that know me, this was a much longer distance than I am used to competing, so this was a huge b challenge!

3. Finally, after the busy season of training and racing for me, we ran the Action for A-T Kids Triathlon and adults Aquathlon at St Catherine's School, Bramley. This was a great opportunity to give the local children an opportunity to experience their own challenge and 'TRI’ a triathlon. This event included swimming in the school pool, cycling around the field and running around the track.  The event also had a BBQ and cake sale.

TOTAL RAISED over £5000!
